I purchased two of these fixtures to replace an entry & hallway fixture in a 1940 home. I love their simplicity and relatively low profile. It is a beautiful, well-priced fixture. The only drawback is when installing as a residential retrofit (specifically with older houses that don't have "modern" rectangular j-boxes), the screwheads in the mounting plate are proud of the top of the plate so you have to do some jerryrigging to get it to sit flush with the ceiling. Other than that one small thing, I would definitely buy this fixture again and recommend it to others. It has a timeless quality that can work with traditional, transitional, and contemporary styles.
