none of these lights say what size balast they are for? will the 24 inch work in a 24 inch blast that only fits 22inch bulbs ?

The 24 watt bulb is 22 inches the 39 watt bulb is 34 inches and the 54 watt bulb is 46 inches.

how much heat will this lamp produce?

The bulb will give off some heat just because electricity is running through it. As long as the fixture is not under a shelf it may only increase the heat a few degrees in your tank.
