All right, let me drop the truth on you folks: -Decent chair, feels woody, might need to get some cushions -Can confirm it does swivel 360 degrees (it's a stiff swivel so use your judgement) -You probably won't get assembly instructions To that last point, assembly wasn't so bad as some of the other reviews make it out to be, although I concede if you have larger fingers it might get tricky. The assembly time for my first chair was bang-on equal to the runtime of the Paramore album "Riot", and the second chair took about half that time. Let me lay out how I tackled it. Experience level: I have no idea what I'm doing. So the chair is going to come mostly assembled, but split into two parts: the stool bit and the seat bit. You'll also get hardware, which includes 4 each of the following: a bolt, a nut, a large washer, and a split washer (I'm sure this thing has a proper name but refer to my above-listed experience level). Useful tools: Adjustable wrench, socket wrench, first aid kit (optional but recommended) Do this: 1. Stand the stool upright and place the large washers over each of the holes. 2. Carefully settle the seat on top of the stool, aligning the holes in the swivel mechanism to the washers. 3. Take one of the bolts and push it upward from underneath the stool through each hole, confirming that it's properly... penetrating (what other word could I use) each washer. Adjust the swivel mechanism and/or washers as needed. 4. Accidentally place your hand on the edge of seat, tilting it upward and messing up all the alignment you just did. Repeat Step 3. 5. Thread a split washer onto a bolt (honestly I'm just guessing where the hardware actually goes but I'm pretty sure this is right) 5. Wiggle one of the nuts between the seat and the swivel mechanism. Push the bolt upward so that it passes through the stool, large washer, and swivel mechanism and into the nut. Give a few turns to lock it into place. 6. Use the adjustable wrench (or pliers might work) to hold the nut in place (if you have a spare set of hands, use them here; if you don't, don't do this over your hardwood floor or you risk the wrench falling and dinging it up). 7. Use the socket wrench (or some other wrench maybe, the bolt has a hexagonal end) to rotate the bolt in until it seems "good enough". 8. Repeat 3 more times. I'd recommend double-checking your washer alignments each time to make sure the bolt still fits through, but honestly I forgot to do this and you probably will too. And you're golden. Enjoy your chair.
