I was at my daughter’s a few weeks ago and sat in one of her relatively new chairs (this one) that she purchased just a little over a year ago. The back had become disengaged, and I almost fell completely backwards on the floor. Upon closer review, it was easily determined that this chair design is arguably inherently dangerously… designed. There’s a joint at the bottom of the chair back … that feeds into the chair leg.
This poorly constructed joint is precisely where the pressure point on the back of a chair primarily is.
I took it home as an experienced furniture repair person, and took it apart in an attempt to repair it; however, if I re-glue the joint and run wooden dowels in that joint (instead of your long metal staples) to better secure it … it will only be a matter of time until somebody … perhaps, my granddaughters … sustain serious injury using this chair.
I was dumbfounded that there was any joint (it should be one continuous piece) let alone pointed tapered finger joints with simply long, thin staple(s) … that could cause irreparable injury if somebody would happen to lean back…and the chair snaps.
And naturally, so snap at that joint.
And further risk be impaled with the sharp edges of the finger joint and/or a staple. I am in the process of trying to run interference for her as her father to see if this chair can be immediately replaced.
With an apology to her, perhaps.
If you do not help her, I will strongly recommend that she contact a licensed local lawyer to file a small claims court action. Upon receiving timely help … I will gladly retract this statement.

I was a little hesitant at first knowing that this exact chair goes for $600+ on other sites, but I took a chance. Came in two days with Prime and I was shocked at the quality! Solid wood, sturdy construction and gorgeous fabric. The colour is slightly more orange than it appears in the listing but that was fine for our space.
I seriously am SO impressed with the level of style and sophistication these chairs brought to our space and the price cannot be beat! I would highly recommend!
