Even though it's NOT 5 feet long, it's 4" short - I was able to cut from the width since my runner is 2x5 I had a foot extra on the width to cut and piece it. . It's thick so you'll need sharp scissors. But, I love that it's padding and that the rug stays in place. It shouldn't discolor my cheap apartment vinyl flooring either - like the sticky laced product I used before. It's kind of a high price, but it's the best I found for my cheap vinyl floor.
